REPTILE: LOAN POLICY
Loans of specimens are available to qualified researchers from other institutions at no charge. The initial loan period is typically six months but extended loans can be arranged through Biological Research Division Director, John Klica. Please address loan requests to the Divison Director on institutional letterhead and include a brief description of the project for which the loan is solicited. Student researchers' loan requests must be cosigned by their department head or adviser, stating their responsibility for the borrowed materials.
The Marjorie Barrick Museum will assume shipping and insurance costs required to deliver the loan to the borrower. The borrower will assume like costs for return of loaned items.
Borrowed specimens must be maintained in a manner sufficient to prevent damage or loss. Specimen or specimen tags may not be altered without written consent. Taxonomic changes resulting from examination of borrowed materials should be conveyed in writing with return of the loan.
Acknowledgment of the Marjorie Barrick Museum is appreciated in publications resulting from examination of Museum specimens. A copy of the publication(s) should be sent to the Museum.
