HRC >> Microbiology >> Facilities >> Room Chamber The experimental chamber was designed to resemble a residential indoor environment. The chamber measures 4.0m by 4.0m by 2.2m high and has a sheet vinyl tile floor. The walls and ceiling are covered with gypsum wallboard and coated with interior latex paint. The room is equipped with a heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) system. Temperature, relative humidity (RH), air flow rate and airborne particle concentrations in the chamber are monitored. An anteroom equipped with a HEPA-filtered air shower attached to the chamber entrance reduces mixing of air resulting from entering and exiting the room during experiments.
