Title of Data: Technetium-99 (Tc-99) Concentrations From Leachates Of Rock Collected From The Exploratory Studies Facility (ESF) at Yucca Mountain and Soil From The Las Vegas Valley.

Description: Rocks from the ESF and soil from the Las Vegas Valley were leached with deionized water. Tc-99 was preconcentrated using a resin-specific disc and eluted with nitric acid. The solution was analyzed by Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectroscopy (ICP-MS).

  • Concentrations were determined by ICP-MS using a calibration curve (intensity versus concentration for standards). The instrument software uses the calibration curve and the response (signal) for the sample to determine the concentration in the sample being analyzed. The data acquired from the instrument is reduced by Microsoft Excel 2003
