Title of Data: Chlorine-36 Bomb-Pulse Study of Chlorine-36/Chlorine and Chlorine-35/Chlorine-37 Isotope Ratios Measured in Leachates of Rock Collected From the Yucca Mountain Exploratory Studies Facility.

Description: Chlorine-36/Chlorine and Chlorine-35/Chlorine-37 isotope ratios were measure in leachates from rock collected from the Exploratory Studies Facility, surface soils located above the north and south ramps of the channel, Exploratory Studies Facility Seep, blanks associated with the UNLV Chlorine-36, and the Bomb-Pulse study. The measurements were taken by accelerator mass spectrometry at the Purdue Rare Isotope Measurement Laboratory (PRIME).

    Comments: This data set supersedes data submittal 004JC.003 and has been generated in order to resolve UNLV NCR-06-013. Select data were removed from data set 004JC.003 as it was determined upon further study that there were possible Cl-36 contamination. The remaining data in this superseding data submittal is the same as in the superseded data set.

    Acquisition/Development Method: The leaching and sample preparation methods for Cl-36 were fully documented in scientific notebook, UCCSN-UNLV-065, vol. 1 and vol. 4. They generally followed Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) procedure LANL-CST-DP-92-R2, LANL-CST-DP-R1, with minor notebook revisions. Analysis was conducted by Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS) at PRIME.
