Our MissionThe Arboretum at UNLV serves the campus, the community, and the region through displays of flora adaptable to southern Nevada, the Mojave Desert, and other arid regions. The plant collection supports teaching and research, enhances campus beauty, and fosters awareness of plants in the human environment.

Collections
UNLV owns and maintains tens of thousands of plants, but we do not manage each and every tree, shrub, flower, or vine found on our campus. Instead we have recognized eleven collections of living plants for special management because of their importance to the mission of the Arboretum. These living collections provide specific educational, research, conservation, and aesthetic opportunities related to arid and semi-arid regions of the world. Our plant collections fall into one of five categories. Click on the links to the left for descriptions of each collection.
