HRC >> Environmental Training
The Harry Reid Center for Environmental Studies has been raising the awareness of Lead hazards within Region 9 and other Regions since 1994. Throughout the years the HRC has partnered with the U.S. EPA, Regions 8, 9 and 10 to offer Tri-Regional Lead Conferences, formed a coalition of State agencies in Nevada comprised of the Housing Authorities for the City of Las Vegas, Clark County, North Las Vegas, Henderson, Rural Nevada and the Washoe Tribal Council, along with the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades, Christmas in April and the State of Nevada, Department of Human Resources, Health Division Bureau of Community Health. Most recently, the HRC has partnered with the UNLV School of Public Health and the Clark County Health Department in an assessment project to determine the cause of lead poisoning in our local population.
The HRC has offered community outreach forums and individualized training for certificates and certification to provide the community with trained and knowledgeable people regarding the dangers of Lead hazards. If you or your organization require training for any weatherization, remodeling, or abatement project, don't start your project without the proper training.
